Georgia Department of Education must complete an impact study within 90 days of any federal action that reduces the U.S. Department of Education's scope, workforce, or budget by more than 20 percent

Study must assess effects on each local education agency and public K-12 school, including impacts on funding, staffing, resources, and school operations

Study must also evaluate impacts on students, including academic performance and access to programs

Department may contract with a nonpartisan independent entity with expertise in education policy and finance to conduct the study

Findings must be reported to each local education agency and published on the department's website in a publicly accessible format
