Local boards of education must provide a public comment period during all regular monthly meetings, with the option to provide comment periods at other meetings.

Public comment periods must be recorded or broadcast in the same manner and to the same extent as the remainder of public meeting portions.

Boards cannot require more than 24 hours advance notice from individuals wishing to speak during public comment periods.

Visual and sound recording, including webcasting, must be permitted at all public board meetings, including during public comment periods.

Board chairpersons retain discretion to limit the length of individual comments and the number of speakers for or against specific issues.
