Georgia House Resolution 1213 recognizes and commends Councilwoman Karmesha Washington Smith for her outstanding public service to the City of Stonecrest and the State of Georgia

Smith began her public service career as a technology support intern with DeKalb County Parks and Recreation, where she worked for nearly three years after graduating from Georgia Southern University

Community leadership roles include Vice President of the Klondike Area Civic Association, Co-Chair of Delta GEMS (Decatur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.), Chair of the Principal Advisory Council at E.L. Bouie Elementary, and Program Lead for Women in Technology
