Georgia House Resolution recognizes the Snellville Youth Council (SYC), founded in 2016 by former Councilwoman Cristy Lenski to provide high school students a pathway into civic engagement and local government

SYC teaches students municipal government operations, public policy development, and professional skills including public speaking, teamwork, meeting protocol, and project planning

Notable achievement includes creating Unity Day, a student-led Juneteenth celebration centering Black culture in Snellville's public civic space

Current leadership includes Youth Director Esther Ndewa, Student Mayor Daye Kebe, and Student Vice Mayor Abdulbasit Kolawole, with 32 members serving in 2025-2026

Clerk of the House directed to provide a copy of the resolution to the Snellville Youth Council
