Survived by his son Rodrick Newton and six siblings: Beverly Turner, Ronald Newton, Craig Newton, Wanda Fulton, Dana Hines, and Noland Newton

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Newton's family
