Thompson developed his talents through Atlanta institutions including the Alliance Theatre School, Atlanta Boy's Choir, Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, and Tri-Cities High School

Career milestones include movie debut in D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), TV debut on Nickelodeon's All That (1994), spinoff Kenan and Kel (1996), and joining Saturday Night Live in 2003 where he is now in his 23rd season as the longest-running cast member in the show's history

Received six Primetime Emmy Award nominations from 2017-2021 for his work on SNL and his NBC series Kenan; published memoir in 2023 and children's book Unfunny Bunny

Directs the Clerk of the House to provide a copy of the resolution to Kenan Thompson
