Cedartown High School Debate Team (Polk County, Georgia) won First Place Overall at the 2026 Parliamentary Debate World Competition held in Kumagaya City, Japan, February 6-8, 2026

Team members Armando Penaloza, Anna Vainrib, and Ande Kate Roper represented the United States and achieved a perfect 6-0 record, defeating Hungary in the championship finals

Competition included 10 teams from 6 countries: Japan, Hungary, Mongolia, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States

Resolution commends the team, their coach Mrs. Jennifer Cupp, and their families for the achievement
