Georgia House Resolution 1512 commends Officer Terry "J" Palmer for his actions during a September 7, 2024 welfare check at Cameron Circle Apartments involving an armed individual with suicidal threats

Officer Palmer observed an armed subject carrying an AR-15 style rifle approaching four officers from behind who were unaware of the threat, and immediately advanced toward the subject, issued verbal commands, and engaged him when he raised the rifle

During the exchange of gunfire, Officer Palmer physically pulled an assisting deputy to safety by her ballistic vest and shielded both officers behind the apartment building structure

Officer Palmer transitioned to providing lifesaving measures once the subject was incapacitated

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to provide a copy of the resolution to Officer Palmer
