GA HR1528

Creates a Joint Study Committee on Higher Education Fiscal Stewardship composed of 10 members: 5 appointed by the Speaker of the House and 5 appointed by the President of the Senate, with one cochairperson from each chamber.

Directs the committee to review University System of Georgia audit reports and financial information to evaluate trends, risk areas, and recommend improvements regarding the Board of Regents' management of appropriated funds.

Authorizes legislative members to receive per diem allowances for up to 5 days of committee work unless additional days are approved.

Requires the committee to file any report with findings or proposed legislation with the Clerk of the House and Secretary of the Senate, approved by majority vote of a quorum.

Committee stands abolished on December 1, 2026.
