Georgia House of Representatives congratulates Nancy Daves for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award, presented annually during Women's History Month by the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus

Nancy Daves has served in leadership roles with the Tybee Island Marine Science Center (protecting North Atlantic Right Whales), Georgia Sierra Club (fighting to protect Okefenokee Swamp from mining), and Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (advocating for water safety, renewable energy, and environmental justice)

Prior to moving to Georgia in 2016, Daves worked for 23 years at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on international marine conservation issues

The award honors Representative Nikki T. Randall, who in 1999 became the first African American woman elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia and served 17 years including as chair of the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus

The Clerk of the House is directed to provide a copy of the resolution to Nancy Daves
