Follows a December 2025 Georgia Roundtable recommendation for an additional salary step at Year 28 to encourage teacher retention

Committee will study cost-effective ways to compensate veteran teachers and recommend legislation to reduce late-career attrition

Committee members may receive allowances for up to five days of meetings, with the committee abolished on December 1, 2026
