Honors the life and legacy of Harold Franklin Reheis, former Director of the Environmental Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, who passed away at age 81

Reheis was born in 1944, graduated from Warner Robins Air Force Base high school, and earned degrees in civil-sanitary engineering and environmental engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Florida

Career spanning more than 60 years included positions with the U.S. Geological Survey, Jordan, Jones and Goulding, the Georgia EPD, and Joe Tanner & Associates

Helped pass the Georgia Hazardous Site Response Act and created programs that remediated over 100 hazardous sites in Georgia

Recognized for establishing "One-Stop" environmental permitting and positioning Georgia as a model for other states in water resources management and environmental law enforcement
