Served as political director for CWA District 3 in Atlanta, becoming the de facto leader of the labor lobby at the Georgia state capitol

Rose to political director of the Georgia AFL-CIO under President Richard Ray, advocating for union members and workers' rights statewide

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Knight's family
