Worked as a public school teacher in Haralson and Harris Counties and operated a business prior to his ordination

Served on multiple civic bodies including the Atlanta Regional Commission of Governmental Services, DeKalb County Council of Advisory Committees, City of Decatur Planning Board, DeKalb County Board of Housing and Adjustment Appeal Board, South Decatur Community Council, and as President of Dearborn Park Action League

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Reverend Dr. Holston's family
