Georgia House Resolution 1698 formally recognizes and commends State Representative Dewey McClain of District 109 for his public service to the state

Representative McClain has served Gwinnett County since 2014 and currently sits on the Game, Fish and Parks; Industry & Labor; Motor Vehicles; State Planning; and Community Affairs committees

Prior to his legislative career, McClain was a professional football player, worked 18 years with the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs, 4 years with the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency, and served as President of the Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council AFL-CIO

McClain has volunteered with the Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Club, Sickle Cell Foundation, and Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Non-Violent Social Change, and serves on boards including the NFLPA Gene Upshaw Players Assistance Trust Fund and Metro Atlanta United Way

The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy to Representative McClain
