Georgia House Resolution 1802 honors the life and memory of Samuel Nelson Givens, who was born January 29, 1938, in Tallahassee-Leon County, Florida, and passed away July 27, 2007

Givens served as an infantryman in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge

Following military service, he worked as a skilled craftsman in automotive repair, carpentry, brick masonry, tile-setting, landscaping, and home repair, often providing services free of charge to those in need

He was a devoted member of Greater St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church and is survived by three daughters, two sons, four sisters, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to provide a copy of the resolution to Givens' family
