Lifelong member of Hopewell A.M.E. Church where she served on the Trustee Board, as President of the Graveyard Committee, and held multiple leadership positions in district and state lay organizations

Graduated from Carter-Parramore High School in Quincy, Florida, Class of 1959, and worked for many years on the clerical and housing staff at Florida A&M University

Survived by two daughters, Sandra G. Scott of Savannah, Georgia, and Evelyn G. Faison of Havana, Florida, along with grandsons, siblings, and extended family

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to the Jones family
