Dr. Robert O. Scott became the 11th president of Albany State University on May 1, 2025

Dr. Scott is a first-generation college graduate who earned his bachelor's degree from Norfolk State University and became the first DNIMAS scholar to earn a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology

Albany State University, founded in 1903, is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) recognized as one of Georgia's most prestigious universities

Dr. Scott's career includes academic leadership at Norfolk State University, Boston College, and Spelman College, plus research roles at Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Abbott Nutrition, and Kraft Heinz

The Georgia House of Representatives formally recognizes and commends Dr. Scott for his accomplishments and extends best wishes for his continued success
