Georgia House Resolution 1982 commends and congratulates Mrs. Theresa Gayle of Savannah on the occasion of her 85th birthday

Mrs. Gayle served as a surrogate mother to neighborhood children, worked as a beautician, and operated a homemade candy apple business to support her family

Worked as a domestic worker caring for homes of Savannah's wealthy residents while raising five children from 31st and Habersham Street: Carl Gayle, Dr. Catherine Gayle, Eric Gayle, Jacquelyn Edwards, and Daren Gayle

Active in local schools as a Booster Club member at Richard Arnold High School and Beach High School, where she is also an alumna and former basketball player

Long-time member of St. John Baptist Church, serving as past president of the Usher Board and participating in the Usher Ministry for decades
