Played professionally as wide receiver for the Detroit Lions (1979) and Kansas City Chiefs (1980); founded the West Georgia Youth Football Camp

Became the first African American chief marshal in the State of Georgia while serving with the Troup County Marshal's Office; also served as deputy sheriff in Peach County (beginning 1982), magistrate judge in Troup County, and chief investigator for the Department of Agriculture

Named Chief of the Year in 2002 by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police
