Creates a House Study Committee on Student Attendance in PreK-12 Education composed of six House members appointed by the Speaker, with one designated as chairperson

Georgia's chronic absenteeism rate (missing 10% or more of school days) reached 21.7% statewide in 2024, with Atlanta Public Schools at 35.4% in 2022-2023 and Decatur County Schools at 38.1% in 2023-2024

Committee will examine root causes of chronic absenteeism, evaluate best practices for improving attendance, and recommend legislative and policy initiatives

Legislative members receive standard allowances under Code Section 28-1-8, limited to three days unless additional days are authorized, funded from House appropriations

Committee must file any findings or proposed legislation with the Clerk of the House and stands abolished on December 1, 2025
