Authorizes the Georgia General Assembly to pass local Acts providing for nonpartisan elections of district attorneys and solicitors-general of state courts, removing party affiliations from these races

Candidates for district attorney in nonpartisan elections would file notice of candidacy with the Secretary of State, while solicitors-general candidates would file with the county superintendent

Filing period opens at 9:00 A.M. on the Monday of the eleventh week prior to the election and closes at 12:00 Noon on the Friday immediately following

Nonpartisan elections for these offices would be held in conjunction with the general primary in even-numbered years, eliminating the need for a prior nonpartisan primary

Amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A. §§ 21-2-132 and 21-2-139)
