GA SB185

Prohibits state funds or resources from being used for gender-affirming care for state inmates, including sex reassignment surgeries, hormone replacement therapies, and cosmetic procedures or prosthetics intended to alter primary or secondary sexual characteristics

Requires the Board of Corrections to adopt rules and regulations establishing exceptions to these prohibitions

Permits exceptions for medically necessary treatments unrelated to gender dysphoria or sex reassignment, treatments for individuals with verified disorders of sex development or partial androgen insensitivity syndrome

Allows hormone therapy to continue for inmates already receiving it prior to the Act's effective date, but only to transition off such therapy

Takes effect upon the Governor's approval or upon becoming law without approval
