Directors of the Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission become eligible for membership in the Georgia Judicial Retirement System beginning July 1, 2026.

Current directors employed as of June 30, 2026, may elect to transfer from the Employees' Retirement System of Georgia to the Judicial Retirement System by June 30, 2027, upon paying the full actuarial cost of the transfer.

Upon transfer, all employer and employee contributions plus interest will be moved from the Employees' Retirement System, with full service credit toward vesting.

Members under this provision are subject to the same retirement rules as solicitors-general of state courts, with earnable compensation based on regular monthly compensation from state funds.

Effective date of July 1, 2026, is contingent on concurrent funding as required by the Public Retirement Systems Standards Law; otherwise the Act automatically repeals.
