Public libraries in Georgia must acquire and maintain a supply of opioid antagonists (such as naloxone) in secure locations where overdoses may occur, stored according to manufacturer's instructions

Library visitors and employees cannot be prohibited from possessing opioid antagonists on library premises

Library personnel may administer opioid antagonists to anyone they believe in good faith is experiencing an opioid overdose while at the library or under library supervision, and may carry the medication on their person

Personnel who administer or choose not to administer an opioid antagonist in good faith are granted immunity from civil liability and professional discipline, except for willful or wanton misconduct

Libraries must immediately activate emergency medical services and notify the individual's parent, guardian, or emergency contact after administering an opioid antagonist
