Eliminates the automatic 5-year purge of involuntary hospitalization records from the Georgia Crime Information Center's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) database

Creates a judicial petition process allowing individuals with involuntary hospitalization records to request removal of their information from the NICS background check system

Courts must hold a hearing within 60 days and grant relief if the petitioner demonstrates by preponderance of evidence they are unlikely to be dangerous and meet weapons carry license standards

First petition may be filed 12 months after discharge from involuntary hospitalization; subsequent petitions require a 2-year waiting period from the previous petition's final order

If relief is granted, the clerk must report the order within 10 days and the center must purge the record within 30 days
