Creates an alternative certification pathway for experienced teachers through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, requiring a bachelor's degree, passing scores on GACE ethics and content assessments, and completion of an experience-based teacher preparation program.

Elementary teacher candidates must have at least 4 years of verifiable teaching experience in grades K-5 at a public or private school.

Secondary teacher candidates must have at least 4 years of teaching experience in grades 6-12 at a public or private school, or at least 72 semester hours of teaching experience at an accredited postsecondary institution.

Experience-based teacher preparation programs consist of either 6 semester hours of coursework (covering pedagogy, science of reading, classroom management, child development, and special education) or 80 hours of equivalent professional development.

Prohibits the Professional Standards Commission from adding requirements beyond those specified, and bars local school systems from discriminating against teachers certified through this pathway, including in job fairs and recruitment activities.
