Repeals Georgia's state-level prohibition on possessing firearm silencers/suppressors, removing them from the list of prohibited dangerous weapons under Code Section 16-11-122

Removes silencers from the offense of "unlawful possession of firearms or weapons," which currently carries a 5-year imprisonment penalty

Eliminates the requirement that silencer owners register under the National Firearms Act to qualify for an exemption from state prohibition

Retains enhanced criminal penalties (10 years consecutive imprisonment) for using a firearm equipped with a silencer during commission of violent crimes including aggravated assault, armed robbery, murder, and drug trafficking offenses

Effective date of July 1, 2026, applying to all offenses committed on or after that date
