Possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana becomes a misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $300 or up to 250 hours of community service

Possession of more than one-half ounce but not more than three ounces of marijuana becomes a misdemeanor for the first three convictions, punishable by a fine up to $1,000 or up to 500 hours of community service; fourth and subsequent convictions constitute a high and aggravated misdemeanor

Possession of more than three ounces of marijuana or possession with intent to distribute remains a felony, punishable by 1-10 years imprisonment

Raises the threshold for felony marijuana possession from one ounce to three ounces under Georgia law
