Adds towing service company vehicles to the definition of "authorized emergency vehicle" in Georgia law, allowing them to be designated as emergency vehicles by the Department of Public Safety.

Towing companies automatically qualify for emergency light permits if they participate in the Department of Transportation's towing and recovery program or hold a local government contract for towing services or clearing roadways.

Towing companies must complete minimum safety course requirements adopted by the Commissioner of Public Safety to obtain emergency light permits.

Emergency vehicle light permits are valid for five years and cost $2.00, with government agencies and ambulance providers exempt from the fee.
