Municipal corporations with detention facilities located within the Capitol Police Division's jurisdiction radius must make those facilities available to the county sheriff upon request, regardless of whether the facility is actively housing inmates

Sheriffs must have sufficient funding appropriated before requesting use of a municipal detention facility

Municipal corporations may charge sheriffs a fee for facility use, but the fee cannot exceed the actual cost of maintaining the detention facility

Becomes effective upon Governor's approval or upon becoming law without approval
