Creates a Senate Study Committee on Acquiring and Management of Lake Lanier, which is currently entirely owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Committee will evaluate ways Georgia could acquire ownership or increased management control of the lake to enhance water security for more than 3.5 million residents and reduce disputes with Alabama and Florida

Seven members appointed by the President of the Senate, including chairs from Natural Resources, Public Safety, and State Institutions committees, plus two additional senators, one Department of Natural Resources employee, and one public member

Lake Lanier generates approximately $5 billion in annual economic impact from recreational use, real estate, and associated businesses

Committee must file its report by December 1, 2026, when it will be abolished
