Georgia General Assembly ratifies the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits denial or abridgment of rights based on sex by the United States or any state.

References President Joe Biden's January 17, 2025 declaration that the ERA is officially the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The ERA was originally passed by the 92nd Congress with a two-thirds majority and requires ratification by three-fourths of state legislatures.

Requires the Governor to forward certified copies of the resolution to the President, Secretary of State, and U.S. Archivist as official notice of Georgia's ratification.

States the amendment would take effect two years after ratification and gives Congress enforcement power through appropriate legislation.
