USO was founded in 1941 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a congressionally chartered nonprofit uniting six agencies: YMCA, YWCA, National Catholic Community Service, Salvation Army, National Jewish Welfare Board, and Travelers Aide

In Georgia, USO provides services at Fort Benning, Fort Stewart, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Georgia National Guard, Fort Gordon, Robins AFB, Dobbins AFB, Moody AFB, Albany Marine Corps Logistics, Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, and Hunter Army Airfield

USO has provided support during national crises including September 11, 2001, natural disasters, and the COVID-19 pandemic

Clerk of the Secretary of the Senate directed to provide a copy of the resolution to the USO
