LWVGA was founded on April 3, 1920, in the home of Atlanta suffragist Emily C. MacDougald, with Annie G. Wright of Augusta serving as its first president

Organization has advocated for labor laws, prison reform, election reform, public education, civil rights, and supported the Voting Rights Act of 1965, National Voter Registration Act of 1993, and Help America Vote Act of 2002

In 1952, led by President Frances Pauley, the LWVGA successfully defeated an amendment that would have institutionalized the county unit system, which disproportionately favored rural counties

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide a copy of the resolution to the League of Women Voters of Georgia
