Leading causes of amputation include diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, infections, cancer, and trauma

Recognizes that many individuals cannot afford prosthetic and orthotic devices due to inadequate insurance coverage, and that such care is considered an essential health benefit under state and federal requirements

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute copies of the resolution to the public and press
