Georgia Senate Resolution 814 recognizes and commends Kay Pippin for her public service to the City of Jackson, Henry County, Butts County, and the State of Georgia

Kay Pippin became the first woman to seek the mayor's seat in Jackson, Georgia's 200-year history in 2013

As Mayor of Jackson, she installed over 4 miles of new water and sewer lines, built an 11-mile mountain biking/hiking trail connecting downtown to Indian Springs State Park, removed over 160 blighted properties, and secured $8 million in the city's first-ever state and federal grants

Prior to serving as mayor, she served 9 years on the Butts County Board of Education (1985-1994), worked as Director of Government Relations and Chief Lobbyist for the Georgia Association of Educators for 24 legislative sessions, and served as President/CEO of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce (2002-2013)
