Georgia Senate formally recognizes and commends Colonel Rick White, a Norcross native, for 31 years of U.S. Army service and continued dedication to Georgia veterans

Enlisted as a Private in 1966 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant at age 19 in 1967; served 24 months of combat duty in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division and 173rd Airborne Brigade

Commanded 13 units throughout his career, including two brigades, two battalions, six companies, and three platoons across Infantry, Special Forces, Aviation, and Recruiting

Earned the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, Combat Infantry Badge, Senior Aviator Wings, Ranger Tab, Special Forces Tab, and Master Parachutist Wings; inducted into U.S. Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame at Fort Benning after retiring in 1997

Currently serves as Board Chairman of the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame
