Recognizes and commends The Robert "Bob" Barr Community Band for 37 years of dedicated service and musical contributions to Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley

Band was founded in 1988 as a memorial tribute to Robert M. Barr, who directed the Jordan High School Band from 1946 to 1962 and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the Chattahoochee Valley in the 20th century

Currently comprises more than 60 volunteer musicians ranging in age from 15 to 94, with three conductors serving since its founding: Dr. George Corradino (1988-2011), Fred Catchings (2011-2023), and current conductor Dr. Oliver C. Boone

Band has performed at notable events including the 1996 Summer Olympics in Columbus, annual July 4th celebrations at the Heard Theatre, and charitable fundraising events for Easter Seals Organization

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide a copy of the resolution to the band
