Georgia Senate Resolution 854 formally recognizes and commends Kay Pippin for her public service to the City of Jackson, Henry County, Butts County, and the State of Georgia

First woman to seek the mayor's seat in Jackson, Georgia's 200-year history in 2013; as mayor, secured $8 million in the city's first-ever state and federal grants and managed 8 city services including electricity delivery to over 5,000 customers

Infrastructure achievements as mayor included over 4 miles of new water and sewer lines, LED street lamps, an 11-mile mountain biking/hiking trail connecting downtown to Indian Springs State Park, and removal of over 160 blighted properties

Served 9 years on the Butts County Board of Education (1985-1994) and worked as Director of Government Relations and Chief Lobbyist for the Georgia Association of Educators, lobbying in 24 sessions of the General Assembly

President/CEO of Henry County Chamber of Commerce (2002-2013), where she helped secure a technical college, a new I-75 exit, and one of Georgia's first academies for advanced studies
