Georgia Senate Resolution 926 honors Gene and Dovie Brinson on their 81st wedding anniversary, having married on February 14, 1945, in Parker, Indiana at age 17

Gene Brinson served in World War II after being drafted at age 18, shortly after the couple's marriage

The couple, now both 98 years old, have six living children, 15 grandchildren, more than 20 great-grandchildren, and are great-great-great grandparents to three descendants

After retiring in Silver Springs, Florida, the Brinsons returned to Georgia more than five years ago to be closer to family

The Secretary of the Senate is directed to provide an appropriate copy of the resolution to Gene and Dovie Brinson
