Georgia Senate commends John Allen Stevens upon his retirement on April 27, 2026, for a lifetime of public service in law enforcement and security

Stevens served 23 years as director of security at First Baptist Atlanta (including as bodyguard to Dr. Charles Stanley), 8 years in Fulton County Sheriff's Reserve Unit, 6 years with City of Atlanta Police Department, and 13 years at Fayette County Sheriff's Office where he rose to lieutenant and chief of staff

Military service included U.S. Army Intelligence at Fort Huachuca, Arizona; earned Expert Marksman recognition, Georgia POST certification, and collaborated with U.S. Secret Service during a presidential visit

Education includes Campbell High School, Truett McConnell College, and University of West Georgia

Secretary of the Senate directed to provide a copy of the resolution to John Allen Stevens
