Georgia Senate formally recognizes the White Rose Society, founded after the October 7 attacks to educate the public about civil liberty and honor the original White Rose student resistance movement in Nazi Germany

Linda Weinkle Selig is honored as founder and leader of the White Rose Society; she was born in Miami in 1946 and relocated to Atlanta in the early 1970s

Selig has held leadership positions with the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Hillels of Georgia, Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Committee, and served as trustee of the Alfred and Adele Davis Academy

Selig served as host committee co-chair of the 1999 Jewish Federation of North America General Assembly and co-founded Make It Happen, a media consulting firm

Secretary of the Senate is directed to distribute copies of the resolution to Linda Weinkle Selig and the White Rose Society
