Georgia Senate commends the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival on its 45th anniversary, scheduled for March 21-22, 2026, at the Georgia International Horse Park with the theme "Rooted Together"

Festival originated in 1982 when Hideo Ogino, former President of Maxell Corporation of America, gifted Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees to the City of Conyers to symbolize friendship between the U.S. and Japan

Event attracts tens of thousands of participants annually and relocated from Maxell grounds to Georgia International Horse Park in 1997 due to growth

Festival received 2026 Kaleidoscope Awards recognition including Gold for Best Event with a Budget Under $75,000, and was named Best Festival by The Rockdale Citizen and a Signature Event by the Southeast Tourism Society

Resolution recognizes sponsors Robins Financial Credit Union and Render Turner Lake, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute a copy to the festival
