HI HB1190

Requires each county police department to identify roadways or classes of roadways most critical to the free movement of persons and commerce.

Mandates that police departments establish protocols to coordinate major traffic accident investigations among law enforcement and other authorities with jurisdiction over the accident location.

Requires police departments to immediately notify the medical examiner in fatal traffic accidents to allow the medical examiner or coroner to conduct scene investigation simultaneously with law enforcement, where practical.

Preserves all existing police department authority and does not restrict any powers otherwise granted by law.

Takes effect upon approval.
