Establishes the Economic Opportunity Poverty Reduction Task Force (EOPRTF) to assess current state policies and evidence-based solutions from other states related to economic opportunity and poverty reduction.

Task force will develop a strategic, integrated, and comprehensive plan to expand economic opportunities in Hawaii with the goal of reducing poverty among residents, including children and families, by at least 50 percent by 2020.

Committee recommends the EOPRTF incorporate and build upon work completed by the Asset-Building Task Force in 2009.

Supported by the National Association of Social Workers-Hawaii Chapter and a concerned individual.

Referred to the Committee on Economic Revitalization, Business, & Military Affairs.
