HI HB2008

Defines "replica firearm" as any device that substantially resembles a firearm or can reasonably be perceived to be an actual firearm in Hawaii Revised Statutes sections 707-700 and 708-801.

Expands terroristic threatening in the first degree (HRS 707-716) to include threats made with the use of a replica firearm in addition to dangerous instruments.

Expands robbery in the first degree (HRS 708-840) to include cases where a person is armed with a replica firearm and uses or threatens force to overcome resistance or compel acquiescence to taking property.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that began before the effective date.
