Requires the state historic preservation officer to review archaeological technology, including ground penetrating x-ray devices and geographic information systems, that can identify and map artifacts without excavation.

Directs the officer to determine the costs associated with acquiring, maintaining, and using ground penetrating x-ray devices and geographic information systems.

Directs the officer to assess whether using such archaeological equipment is feasible based on technology costs and benefits to the historic preservation division in preserving historical bones and artifacts.

Requires the state historic preservation officer to report findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the 2011 regular session.
