HI HB2825

Exempts tenants leasing 200 or more acres of privately-owned land or any amount of state land for agricultural or aquacultural operations from county building permit requirements for nonresidential structures used in those operations.

Requires tenants to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the State and its agencies from all liability, loss, damage, and claims arising from the failure to obtain building permits.

Requires permanent structures to be designed and engineered according to the latest version of the International Building Code published by the International Code Council.

Defines "temporary structures" as ancillary buildings not designed to remain permanently, including shipping containers, modular structures, cold frames, and storage sheds.

Takes effect upon approval.
