Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 803-83 to add three felony offenses to the list of crimes that may be charged by written information instead of requiring a grand jury indictment.

The three added felonies are: unauthorized entry in a dwelling, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, and methamphetamine trafficking in the second degree.

These three felonies were enacted after the 2004 passage of Act 62, Session Laws of Hawaii 2004, which originally established the information charging procedure.

Committee received testimony in support from one state agency and four county agencies, with one state agency submitting opposition testimony.

Becomes effective upon approval, with minor technical and stylistic amendments made for consistency within the Hawaii Revised Statutes.
